Sonny's Blues Key word:Child

"I couldn't stand the way he looked at me, partly like a dog, partly like a cunning child"
"So we drove along, between the green of the park and the stony, lifeless elegance of hotels and apartment buildings, toward the vivid, killing streets of our childhood"
"Safe!, my father grunted, whenever Mama suggested trying to move to a neighborhood which might be safer for children."

The key word child in this story reflects the time when the brothers were children and refers to their pasts. It can also refer to the daughter who died while Sonny was in rehab and the brother was writing a letter to him. The word child reflects their pasts the most because they refer to their pasts throughout the story. How they used to be when they were young and what could have went wrong.

  1. I think Child is a very big key word, and that you came up with excellent reasons as to why it is such an impacting word to the story.
